The President’s Trophy was held over 4 days with the Singles, Plate and Swiss Singles played on the 25th and 26th January and the Doubles on the 30th and 31st January. This year had the largest number of entrants, 18 in fact, and so some singles were played at Hyde Park on Monday and some of the Swiss singles played at South Terrace. Thank you to these clubs for making their lawns available. The President, Lynn Parnel presented the winner’s trophy to David Wise from Norwood with the runner up also from Norwood, Ansi Baumaris. The Plate was won by Barry Jennings from Hyde Park and runner up Kate Logan from Victor Harbor. Mark Senior from Hyde Park won the Swiss Singles with Helen Cook from Norwood the runner up. The doubles competition was won by Karen Magee from Brighton partnered by Robert Brown from Millswood. The runners up were Norma Greig from North Adelaide and Michael Reidy from Hyde Park.
All games were hotly contested with great sportsmanship. Although Monday afternoon was played in a huge downpour – this did not dampened the spirits of the players.
We were once again fortunate to have Trevor Lapham from North Adelaide present to take photos. Trevor is always very generous with his time and photographic skills.
