Question & Answers on Time Limits (from National Handicapper):
Q1: What is the minimum time-limit on a game for inclusion in the
National Handicapping system? It doesn't seem to be specified in the
Handicapping Regulations.
A1: There is no minimum time-limit on a game for inclusion in the
system. Tournament organisers set up time-limits to fit their
requirements. If someone wishes to run a tournament with 1-hour
26-point handicap games then they are free to do so - although I
suspect the participants would not be too thrilled!
Q2: Why is there a 2.25 hour minimum time-limit for inclusion in the
AC World Ranking system (45 minutes for the GC system)?
A2: That is the number specified by the maintainers of those systems
and used world-wide.
Revised ACA Handicapping Regulations (Association & Golf Croquet w.e.f. 15/3/10)
Message to tournament managers and handicappers:
The National Handicapper, Stephen Meatheringham has asked that the following
reminder be given to all croquet players, Tournament Managers and Tournament
Handicappers:
“Can you please ensure that you pass on to all Tournament Managers and
Tournament Handicappers that they need to sight and check each player's
Australian handicap card at the beginning and end of a tournament (ACA
Handicapping Regulations, items 8 and 9 for both Association Croquet
and Golf Croquet).
ACA tournament conditions carry a statement noting that handicap cards must
be produced at the commencement of a tournament. Â It is suggested that
states do similar with their tournament conditions to remind players.
Please note that the "blue" Queensland cards that were used for an internal
trial in that state are not valid.”
